OPPORTUNITY,
FREEDOM AND SELF RESPECT
A ten session course for Young people aged between 13-16 years
The goal of the “why try” programme is to help youth
answer the question “Why try in life?” when they are
frustrated, confused or angry with life’s pressures and
challenges. The why try teaches youth that trying hard in life
and putting effort into challenges at home, at school and with
peers is worth the effort.
The programme is presented in a lively, vibrant way to music and
visual analogies, as well as team work and physical activities.
Its questions stress to youth that making good decisions can be
difficult; doing so can result in Opportunity, Freedom and Respect
The
power of this course is its ability to tap into youth in a way
they understand and we are all extremely excited about the benefits
of using this programme.
We shall be using this instead of Anger management for the present
time, as the course will cover this topic in several of its sessions,
along with peer pressure; decisions have consequences, motivation,
getting rid of negative labels and problem solving.
Please contact the main office to find out where and when the
next Whytry programme will be running.
